A WINCHESTER history group gathered at the Hampshire Records Office recently to hear about the Roman Army.
Over 70 members of WARG - the society for Winchester archaeology and local history - and their guests were there to hear from John Smith, a specialist on the fact and fiction of the Roman military.
On Monday, October 14, members heard in detail about the Roman’s uniform and weapons.
Julia Sandison, of WARG, said: “This was a fascinating evening, quite different to WARG’s more usual talks, and there was much discussion over tea and coffee afterwards.”
WARG meet on the second Monday of each month and non-members are welcome for a charge of £3.
