THIEVES have made off with hundreds of litres of fuel near Winchester.
Overnight on Tuesday, October 15, 450 litres of diesel were removed from two trucks while the drivers slept.
One of the lorries was parked at a lay-by at South Wonston on the A34, and the other at Sutton Scotney Services. Officers will soon be visiting lorry park-up areas to offer advice, such as always parking in a well lit, well used area, or parking with the fuel tank facing the road.
Inspector Jon Turton, of Winchester Police Station, said: “We hope that by working together with lorry drivers we can make life harder for those who are considering stealing diesel from vehicles in the area.”
