A WINCHESTER-based charity celebrated a successful fundraising event when they raised nearly £20,000 at their annual ball.
The Joe Glover Trust held their James Bond themed annual ball at Southampton’s Novotel, on Saturday night (October 12), with an estimated figure raised of £17,000 so far.
Over 250 people came to the sixth annual event, with music from local band, The Strand, and a live auction hosted by TV auctioneer, Jonathan Pratt, who slammed down the gavel to raise £8000.
Fundraising and events manager, Victoria Stevens, said: “It amazes me every year; the continued support. It’s humbling when you see a room full of people being so generous to help make such a huge difference to a local charity. “The money raised will go such a long way in helping our families who have received the devastating news that their child has been diagnosed with cancer.
“The Joe Glover Trust has helped hundreds of families in Joe’s legacy and that makes us extremely proud.”
