FEARS over a suspicious man seen outside a Winchester school have been allayed.
Western Primary School in Winchester alerted parents on Wednesday (oct 2) to several sightings of a man wearing an orange hoodie near the school.
But police confirmed the man was not dangerous and was actually a parent of a pupil.
A spokesman said: “Further investigation has identified this man as the father of one of the school pupils who was picking his child up from school.”
Parents praised the school for the quick action it took after concerns were initially raised.
Headteacher Peter Burbridge sent a warning letter to parents, confirming the police had been informed and that children were taught about 'stranger danger' in response.
