Car destroyed in motorway fire near Winchester
WINCHESTER firefighters tackled a fire that destroyed a car at a service station on the M3 near Winchester.
A crew from the Easton Lane station attended the incident at northbound Winchester Services at about 5pm yesterday.
The car, thought to be an Astra, was completely destroyed, said watch manager Chris Roper today.
He said the driver from Southampton reported problems driving and so pulled into the service area where the fire erupted soon after he stopped.
