A WINCHESTER shoe shop is celebrating after a summer sales boost.

ParkLifeKids, an independent children’s shoe store in Upper Brook Street, saw a 50 per cent rise in sales in August compared to the same period last year.

Owner Maria Harvey said: “It's all down to our fitting and customer service. With well trained fitters who really know our products, there's no such thing as a 'hard to fit' foot. All of the team love working with children so we try and make it fun for them."

It is just one of several specialist children’s shops in the area, just metres away from The Toy Cupboard, JoJo Maman Bebe, The Entertainer and Childhood’s Dream.

Ms Harvey added: “It's great having a wide choice of children's shops all in close proximity in Winchester and we've noticed more customers coming from further afield. Where else could you come to and have three children's shoe stockists and three toy shops to choose from?"
