THREE people were taken to hospital after a crash involving a car and a lorry in Twyford.
A woman and two children, travelling in the car, were taken by ambulance to Southampton General Hospital on Monday (August 5).
Ambulance crews were called to the High Street at 10.59am, although the injuries turned out not to be life-threatening.
A Twyford resident, who asked not to be named, said: “I heard a commotion near the traffic lights. I could see that a car was virtually obliterated but wasn’t sure which lorry was involved.
“The police and ambulance crews were on the scene within minutes and everyone in the village was talking about children being involved. We were all hoping that no one was badly hurt. Roads were closed and traffic did build up for a while, but the police had directions in place quickly.”
It remains unclear what caused the collision.
