COLDEN Common Bowling Club held its President’s Day at the end of July at the club’s green in Colden Common Park.
About 50 members took part in the knock-out competition, courtesy of president Barry Pitman, with long standing members John Straker and Steve Simmons winning the final.
Located off Boyes Lane, the club now has more than 90 members and has been going for 13 years.
Mr Pitman said: “There was a wonderful buzz around the green all day. Even at 7 o’clock there were still 30 members watching the final. Our club is certainly booming.
“The club has a very relaxed, happy attitude to bowling yet we are strengthening our position in the district league. There is still room for new members.”
