WINCHESTER’S residents are being called to walk the city to raise money in support of those with Alzheimer’s.
People of all ages will come together, at the North Walls Recreation Ground, led by The Alzheimer’s Society to raise money for those with dementia and their carers.
Raising awareness of the illness there will be an optional six mile walk around the historic city including the cathedral, Wolvesey Castle and the Great Hall.
Warming up with a Zumba session the hikers can enjoy family games, local musicians and homemade cakes. There will also be a memory tree to remember those affected by the disease. The society is also looking for volunteers for the day to help coordinate the march.
Registration at 10am, walks start at 11am on September 7.
