Joseph Curtis August 1 A WINCHESTER man was taken to hospital after a late night attack in the city last week.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the 48-year-old was assaulted in The Broadway on Sunday, July 28, between 1am and 1.20am.
He was taken to Royal Hampshire County Hospital where he was treated for facial injuries.
The victim was walking home with a friend when they were approached by another man outside The Guildhall.

PC Mike Good said: “The area would have been busy at the time of the incident with people enjoying a night out or making their way home.
“The assault occurred next to a taxi rank and I am especially keen to hear from any taxi drivers who may have seen the incident.”
Anyone with information should contact PC Good at Winchester Police Station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
