AN Alresford pub was set to reopen today following its sudden closure on Friday night.
The Running Horse in Pound Hill is expected to open its doors again today as a Greene King spokesperson confirmed: “The licensees have decided to leave the Running Horse and we would like to thank them for their hard work.
“We are currently reviewing the long-time future of the pub and in the meantime it remains open for business with new licensees behind the bar,” she added.
The pub closed on Friday alerting punters on Twitter stating: “The Running Horse opens its doors for the last time ever tonight at 5pm. After that the pub will be closed until it is sold!!”
It has been run for the last two years by Malc Evans and Hannah Newman.
The couple posted on Facebook: “Thanks to all of our lovely customers who came to see us off last night. We're so grateful for your support over the last two years. This page will now be closed as the pub is unlikely to reopen again! Thanks to all.”
