AFTER 1400 gruelling miles of cycling, and climbing the UK’s highest mountains, nine Bishop’s Waltham residents have returned safely home.
The 3K4K team completed their monster 16-day, three-peak challenge on Sunday (July 28), and rode back into town to be greeted by more than a hundred cheering well-wishers.
The group are raising cash for Leukaemia Busters and The Piam Brown Ward at Southampton General Hospital, setting themselves a target of £50,000.
Setting off from Bishop’s Waltham, the team cycled north to Snowdon, and on to Scafell Pike before finally conquering Ben Nevis.
They were aided in their efforts by two support vehicles courtesy of Marquis Motorhomes.
Team leader Ady Smith said: “I am really proud of the team in completing the challenge, it is a fantastic achievement. The support we have received before, during, and now on our return, has been fantastic and I would like to thank all those involved.”
