Improvement plans for Romsey’s War Memorial Park including the war horse statue go on show to the public next week.
A public consultation event will take place at Romsey Town Hall on Thursday (August 1) 10am to 4pm.
Test Valley Borough Council has been working with Friends of the Memorial Park, Romsey Memorial Archive and the War Horse Committee to develop a range of ideas to enhance the area.
These include redesigning the entrance to the park, enhancing the setting of the war memorial and installing information boards to provide details of the casualties listed on it.
The war horse sculpture being proposed will honour the six million horses killed in the Great War and the many thousands of horses which passed through the Romsey Remount Camp, located at the top of Pauncefoot Hill.
The plans will also go on show at the Friends of War Memorial Park Fun Day on Saturday, August 17, from 2pm to 4pm.
