A WINCHESTER primary school has said farewell to its headteacher at its summer fair.
Lorraine Smith is leaving Western Primary School in Fulflood after 11 years but the school community gave her a rousing send-off.
There was a farewell presentation and a balloon launch amid glorious sunshine.
Among the gifts was one that Mrs Smith gave to the school, a stunning sculpture of a dragon that stands in the 'Dragon's Den' playground.
By many accounts it was Western’s best-ever summer fair.
