AN elderly woman was seriously injured in a two-car crash at a country road junction near Winchester.
The women, who has not been named but is thought to be 91 years old, was trapped and bleeding in the wreckage until firefighters from Winchester removed the roof.
She was then airlifted to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance.
The ambulance service intitially sent two vehicles, an officer, a team leader and an in-care doctor.
The crash happened at the junction of Morestead Road and Hazeley Road at Morestead at about 4pm on Monday. The police are invetigating the cause.
An ambulance service spokesman said no-one else was injured.
