FINAL details of the BoomTown festival near Winchester have been announced.
The event at Matterley Bowl on August 8-11 will see thousands of people arrive for the self-styled ‘the UK’s maddest city.’ A hotline number for local residents to contact organisers will operate from August 8 on 01962 856502.
The finalised traffic plans will see the gaps on the A31 closed from 7pm on Wednesday August 7 until 7pm on Monday August 12.
A 40mph speed limit on the A31 and A272 will be in force close to the site.
Sections of the South Downs Way which cross the Matterley Estate will be closed and diverted during the four-day event.
On noise pollution the organisers warn that bass sound will come from the site but they say it will be kept within legal limits and will be “significantly lower” after 11pm.
There will be a firework display lasting between three and five minutes before 11pm on the Sunday night.
Discounted tickets for Sunday are available to locals at £40.
Shanaz Subhan-Jones, public liaison manager, is asking for suggestions on local charities that BoomTown can support.
A public meeting is also due tobe held after the event to gather feedback.
