A PAIR of Hampshire siblings are tackling a mammoth charity cycling challenge.
Teenagers Mollie and Wilfrid van Geest will cycle more than 600 miles from Headley Court in Surrey to Klosters, Switzerland.
They aim to raise £5,000 for Skiing with Heroes, a charity provides special adaptive skiing training to help rehabilitate wounded ex-soldiers.
Mollie, 19, a former St Swithun's School pupil, said: “I volunteered for the charity last March, having skied all my life, and I decided it was something I would like to help with.
“The veterans who come out here have to overcome so many challenges so we wanted to do something fittingly demanding to raise money to help.”
She added: “Until about two months ago I was not a cyclist at all and had to be persuaded to get on a bike I have now trained really hard.”
The siblings, who live in Lockerley, near Romsey, set off on August 2, aiming to finish by August 9.
Mollie has just finished a gap year while Wilfrid, 18, has completed his A-Levels at Winchester College.
They have already raised almost £4,500 and donations can be made at justgiving.com/Headley-Court-to-Klosters-Charity-Cycle.
