CHILDREN are staging a revolution at an Alresford school.
But there’s no need to worry as pupils are performing classic musical Les Miserables at Perins School.
Students have been working on the production since January and have transformed the school hall into 19th Century revolutionary France, complete with a revolving stage and barricades.
More than 100 pupils are in the cast with 50 more in the orchestra and the backstage team.
Marilitsa Alexiou, director and team leader of the creative arts department said, “I have been astounded by the maturity and dedication demonstrated by these pupils, both through their talents and their extraordinary sense of creative ambition. They have shown a great sense of responsibility both to one another and also the staff who have worked with them.”
The school teamed up with stage production company M3 Technology which has helped build the set and is filming a DVD of the performances.
Performances started on Monday (July 15) and run until Friday (July 19) although all 1,140 tickets have sold out.
