TWO budding scholars from Wyvern College have been rewarded with a trip to Oxford University.
Nikita Hadavale and Daniel Carpenter are winners of the DUX award, a government scheme giving outstanding students the opportunity to visit a Russell Group university of their choice.
Nikita said: “I was elated when I got the news. Oxford is not only one of the top Universities in the UK, but is also one I aspire to attend.
“What struck me most was the university's relaxed and friendly atmosphere, with students who were simple, honest, 'normal' people who liked to have fun and weren't all study and no play. Even the staff were humble and approachable: everything about the place was pleasant.”
Accompanied by a teacher, Mrs Janet Habis, they joined students from across England for a day of study sessions, a tour of the campus and the Oxford Natural History Museum, before a question and answer session with current Oxford students.
Mrs Habis said: “The trip was an amazing opportunity for high achieving students who now have their sights set on entering a top Russell University.”
