AN Alresford girl has designed a salad so good that everyone in her school is getting a bag of it.
Kasia Smith, of Sun Hill Junior School, came up with Kasia’s Booming Salad and on Monday (July 8), Alresford Salads made it a reality by creating and bagging it in their factory.
Organisers said her tasty combination of red watercress, rocket, spinach and chives “looked colourful and had an aromatic, peppery taste.”
Kasia and her classmates – Year 4 and Year 5 pupils – had two tasting sessions, encountering plenty of leaves they’d never tried before.
Sun Hill’s Joseph Lyall won the competition to design a label to put on the winning salad.
The winning bag, complete with label, will go out to every pupil at Sun Hill School.
Alresford Salads is one of the leading specialist salad producers of watercress, babyleaf and organic salads within the UK and provide many of the national supermarkets.
