New candidate: Jackie Porter (right)
WINCHESTER Liberal Democrats have chosen Jackie Porter as their parliamentary candidate at the next General Election.
A group meeting yesterday selected the county councillor from Itchen Abbas who has represented the Itchen Valley Division since 2005.
Mrs Porter will contest the seat against sitting MP Steve Brine at the next General Election expected in 2015.
Martin Tod who fought the seat in 2010 and was defeated by Mr Brine did not apply for the position.
