THE ambitious scheme to create a museum of the English language in Winchester is holding its annual lecture next month.
A History of the English Language in 100 Places by Professors Bill Lucas and Christopher Mulvey will be on July 13 at 2.30pm at Winchester Guildhall.
This is the fifth in the English Project’s Great English Language Makers Lecture Series. Previous subjects have included William Shakespeare, Samuel Johnson, the King James Bible and Charles Dickens. English Language Makers are persons and events that leave our language changed forever.
Tickets from the Box Office 01962 857276. The talk is presented in association with the Winchester Festival and the University of Winchester.
