A FORMER quantity surveyor died from natural causes, despite having been exposed to asbestos, an inquest heard.
Michael George, 73, died at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital on March 19.
An inquest in Winchester on Wednesday (June 12) heard that Mr George, of Roker Way, Fair Oak, had been exposed to asbestos during his career but had also smoked for 20 years.
A pathologist’s report had said he died of lung cancer.
Grahame Short, coroner for central Hampshire, recorded a verdict of death due to natural causes.
