TWO men suspected of theft have been arrested after the vehicle they were travelling in collided with a police bike.
Police received a report of two men shoplifting in Jack Wills on Winchester High Street yesterday at around 4.45pm.
As part of their enquiries, officers tried to stop a man in a silver BMW 3 series in St Peter Street.
The driver failed to stop and collided with a police bike, although the officer was not injured.
The car then collided with another vehicle in stationary traffic.
A 57-year-old man from Wheatley in Oxfordshire was later arrested on suspicion of theft, assault, failing to stop, dangerous driving and criminal damage.
A 29-year-old man from Oxford has also been arrested on suspicion of theft.
Both men are in custody and are being questioned by police.
