A MOTHER and daughter were injured in an unusual attack in Mottisfont woodland.

Police say that the unnamed woman was cycling with her 16-year-old daughter in Spearywell Wood when a dog walker assaulted them.

The dog walker is alleged to have kicked the mother in the leg causing bruising and her daughter suffered a cut and swollen lip after being punched in the face following an altercation.

Officers say that the dog walker had a black and white collie with her at the time and she is described as in her 50s and a large build. She also had her hair in a ponytail and was wearing a blue fleece top and brown trousers.

Romsey's, Inspector Jackie Wilson said: “This was a very unusual incident and we'd like to speak to anyone who saw the dog walker or the two women on bikes prior to the incident which happened on May 25 at about 3.15pm.
