CURDRIDGE man Callum Kellas was nearly four times the drink drive limit when caught by police, a court heard.

Kellas, 21, of Botley Road, was stopped in a 04-reg Skoda Fabia in Sussex Street, Winchester on May 10.

His alcohol reading was 126 micrograms in 100 millilitres of breath, when the legal limit is 35. He pleaded guilty to the offence.

Magistrates in Basingstoke banned him from driving for 30 months and ordered he do 200 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months, pay a £60 victim surcharge and costs of £85.

The ban will be cut by 224 days should Kellas pass a course by February 17 2015.
