ROYAL Winchester Golf Club hosted a special charity day last week.
Golfers from Hampshire, Berkshire and Dorset gathered on Tuesday, May 21, to raise money for Catholic international aid agency CAFOD.
Organiser Roger Lillie, of Romsey, said: “CAFOD is the official international aid agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and we are all proud to support such a great event. Everyone involved wanted to do what they could to support CAFOD’s work. We raised nearly two thousand pounds and had a great day in the process.”
Lynda Mussell, CAFOD diocesan manager, added: “We’d like to thank all the players, volunteers and the club itself for hosting such a great event. None of our work would be possible without our loyal and dedicated supporters and the outstanding work of our partners overseas.”
Prizes were awarded for best three of four cards for teams and also best individual scores. There were also longest drive and nearest the pin competitions.
