A HAMPSHIRE school is celebrating after a successful Ofsted inspection.

Test Valley School received a ‘good’ grade after its inspection in early May, scoring the same grade in all four key categories.

Headteacher Louisa Hiscock said: “I am delighted the school has achieved such a positive report from Ofsted. It is a testament to how far the school has moved forward and the capacity we have to improve even further in the future. It should also be noted that this is a significant achievement under the undoubtedly more challenging Ofsted framework introduced in September 2012.

“We remain committed to raising standards and ensuring high pupil attainment whilst also offering our pupils a range of exciting experiences and opportunities outside the classroom.”

She also thanked staff, governors, parents and pupils for all their hard work in achieving this result.

Inspectors highlighted a “considerable rise in standards” for pupils with more gaining five or more GCSE A*-C grades.

The report also praised teaching and the range of subjects on offer and strong leadership from the headteacher and governors.

But it suggested improvements in making sure work meets the needs of all pupils and encouraged teachers to communicate better with students to keep them moving towards targets.

The inspection also coincided with the school’s annual ‘StockFest’ music and dance festival.
