THE Big Lunch is billed as “a simple act of community, friendship and fun between neighbours.”
This summer West View House, the homeless hostel, is reaching out to its neighbours and inviting residents of Hyde to share food and life experiences at a special lunch.
Organisers say the event on Sunday, June 2, is also a chance for West View House to thank supporters such as Winchester Basics Bank and the Trinity Centre.
The initiative is part of the Eden Project and follows discussions at the Hyde Hostel’s liaison group, organised by Cllr Dominic Hiscock.
Together with support from Hyde resident Heidi de Quincey, project worker Molly Edwards said the hostel hopes they have come up with “a community event that involves everyone”.
