FIFTY women set off from St Catherine's Hill on a 25-mile trek in support of a Hampshire toddler with cerebral palsy.

On Saturday, May 11, the women walked together to raise money for three-year-old Whiteley boy, Reuben Smith.

The Ramble for Reuben fundraiser started in Winchester at St Catherine's Hill at 8am, following the ancient Pilgrims Trail footpath, and finishing at The Parsons Collar, Whiteley.

Reuben's mum, Haanagh Smith(correct), who was one those to don her walking boots, said: “Our family are eternally grateful for everyone's time and efforts in the build up to this and on the day, from the walkers, supporters and everyone behind the scenes in the organisation.”

Reuben and his twin brother Zachary were born prematurely with cerebral palsy. Reuben cannot walk and will always need a great deal of care.

The ramble will raise the money needed for intensive physiotherapy sessions following a series of Botox injections, which reduces discomfort in the muscles of children with the condition.

Family and friends are aiming to raise £3K to fund this over the next 12 months.
