POLICE at Eastleigh are appealing to two missing 14-year-old girls to contact them or their families as a matter of urgency.
Tilly Young from Winchester and Kaitland Ross from Chandler's Ford were last seen at Kaitland’s Essex Green home at about 5pm on Tuesday. They went out, and Kaitland was expected home at 8.30pm. She did not return. Tilly also failed to return home.
Unconfirmed sightings on Tuesday evening report the girls on the way to Asda shortly after 5pm. At about 6.40pm, they may have been seen in Wide Lane, near Parkway railway station, Eastleigh.
Another unconfirmed sighting put them near the Fleming Arms pub, Sholing, at about 7.30pm. In Sholing, they were in the company of two boys their own age.
Tilly is described as a slim white girl who is 4ft 7ins tall with dark hair. When last seen, she was wearing a low cut white tee shirt, a bright red jacket, light grey tracksuit bottoms and blue/green trainers.
Kaitland is a white girl of medium build who is 5ft 2ins tall with curly brown shoulder length hair. The ends of her hair are dyed bright red. When last seen, she was wearing a blue Adidas jumper with stripes on the sleeves, blue tracksuit bottoms an black Nike Air Max trainers.
Eastleigh PC Kelly Drodge appealed to the two girls and their friends. “The police and your families are very concerned for your welfare. You are only 14, and we are told it is unusual for you not to be in contact with your families after two days.
“It is possible that your mobile phones are not charged, so contact is difficult. It is important that you either borrow a phone, dial 999 and ask for Hampshire police or report to a police station so it can be established that you are safe and well,” PC Drodge said.
The officer also appealed to anyone who knows where the girls are or who has seen them since Tuesday to contact police at Eastleigh on 101.
