WINCHESTER will see the return of a charity triathlon in July, as participants peddle, paddle and pace (PPP) for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Winchester PPP has so far raised more than £50,000 over the years, and organisers will be hoping to top previous yearly tallies of £10,000.
On Sunday, July 21, entrants will cycle 20km, before running 5km along the Hockley viaduct and through the historic Water Meadows. The event finishes with a 2km kayak along the Itchen Navigation canal.
The event is for all abilities and can be tackled as an individual or as part of a team.
Winchester and Chandler’s Ford MP, Steve Brine, was with Katie Blake of Macmillan Cancer Support to launch the event in Easton on Friday (May 17).
He said: “This is such a fun event but, as importantly, it helps Macmillan do even more for local people fighting cancer. We really want 2013 to be the most successful year to-date."
