A PAIR of Winchester children will judge a national food competition tomorrow (May 15).
South Wonston Primary School pupils Anna Gurung and William Redding, both 11, are on the panel for the LACA School Chef of the Year finals, held at Worthy Down barracks on Wednesday.
There were 10 finalists from across the country but no Hampshire-based chef made it through.
Contestants had to cook a main course and dessert suitable for an 11-year-old that cost no more than £1.50 per child for the whole meal.
The competition is organised annually by LACA, formerly the Local Authority Caterers Association, and sponsored by Maggi, a Nestle brand of sauces, soups and stocks.
