STAFF at Winchester’s Royal Hampshire County Hospital have been praised for their work on strokes.
Stroke care at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT), which runs the hospital, has been recognised by the South East Stroke Network.
They presented the Foundation Trust with a certificate for being the most efficient site in the south after three research nurses - Charlotte Eglinton, Deborah Delefera and Jennifer Wilson - recruited more patients for their portfolio studies than any other organisation in the area.
The stroke research team is spread across the HHFT sites at Royal Hampshire County Hospital and Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital.
Marianne Watkins, lead nurse for research, said: “Working together the team has achieved more for less and helped to raise the profile of research in the organisation. I am very proud of what they have achieved, and to receive recognition by the South East Stroke Network is testament to their hard work.”
