TRAFFIC chaos could hit Kings Worthy later this month due to major roadworks.
Hampshire County Council is resurfacing Springvale Road as part of its Operation Resilience programme, aimed at protecting roads from extreme weather and heavy traffic.
Work starts on Monday, May 20 for up to six days between the Hookpit Farm Lane and Nations Hill junctions and it will be closed from 9.30am-4pm.
In a letter to residents, a council spokesman said: “Every effort will be made by our contractor Amey to allow vehicular access to and from your property when safe to do so. However, due to the depth of the resurfacing works and the use of hot bituminous materials there will be times when long delays are unavoidable and access will be heavily restricted.”
Any changes to the programme will be displayed on clear yellow signs in the road or at hants.gov.uk/transport.
