HAMPSHIRE'S Naked Rambler made a brief appearance at Winchester Crown Court yesterday charged with breaching an anti-social behaviour order.
It was alleged that Stephen Gough, 53, who appeared naked in the dock, was nude in public in breach of an antisocial behaviour order imposed by Southampton magistrates on February 28.
Gough, of Chamberlayne Road, Eastleigh, pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody until his trial date on June 19.
No application for bail was made.
Judge Guy Boney QC said to Gough at the end of the hearing: “Just one thing. I have had the courtesy of keeping my clothes on while hearing your case. I'm sure the judge trying your case would appreciate you appearing before him suitably clothed. Do you understand?”
Gough replied: “I understand.”
