DAVIES Gillian Anne Died at home after a short illness on 9th May 2022, aged 85 years. Much loved and cherished wife of Dave, wonderful mother to Melanie and Tim, amazing grandma to Jacob, Isaac and Tilly and a loving sister to Jen. Held in great affection and respect by many colleagues and former pupils at the Westgate School, Winchester and liveries at Cockscombe Farm and an extensive network in the equestrian world. Funeral Service at St Mary's Church, Twyford on Tuesday 7th June at 2.00 pm. Donations, if desired, to Mountbatten Hampshire can be made at www.steelsfunerals.co.uk or to help Gillian's garden bloom please donate flowers, plants or shrubs to be planted in her memory. So many great memories of Mrs Davies when she was Deputy Head at Westgate School. I was there from 1977 -1982 as a pupil then and she was always very friendly and fair and welcoming. A great teacher and inspiration to so many people. She kept in touch with people after they left school also and i know that 40 years later she retained an interest in how those young peoples lives developed over the years. I met her again a couple of years ago when I took a funeral in Eastleigh and she remembered me and we chatted for ages about the old time and how I had done well. A true and dedicated teacher who actually cared way above and beyond her call of duty, Rest in Peace Mrs Davies
