NORTH Robin John 1936 2022 Robin at 85 has sadly died after a short illness, courageously fought, peacefully at home with family. Much loved, fondly remembered and dearly missed by his wife Barbara and their daughter Briony, his son Mark and daughter Shelley and their mother Angela and grandchildren Kelly, Grace, Louis, Charlie, George, great grandson Tyler and all the family and friends. A well-known, respected, and successful local professional footballer who played for and managed Andover, Winchester and Salisbury teams. He also played as a youth professional for Southampton and as a full professional after National Service at Bournemouth FC. Known and trusted by many at Monros and Martins of Andover for 30 years. Proud to have been the nephew of Tommy Bounds who raced for Norton Bikes and Phillip Bounds a successful local boxer in the 1950s. The end of a local family sporting era. The funeral will be held in The Chesil Suite, Chesil House, Winchester on Friday 11th March at 11.30 am followed by refreshments at the Victoria Hall, Sutton Scotney from 1.00 pm. All are welcome to come to the service and/or join the family for refreshments, please contact barbara.north@talk21.com or 01264 810732. Family flowers only. Barbara, my sincere condolences to you and your family,. Robin was my first manager at Sutton Scotney then at Winchester City and then at Salisbury City. A person I had respect for and who was kind to me during this time. A sad time but happy memories.
