ALKEMA-GAMELKOORN Maria Susanna "Riete" Riete died peacefully on 29th January 2022 in Winchester. She was born on 24th October 1932 in Groningen, The Netherlands. A celebration of her life will be held at Chesil House in Winchester on 14th February. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mary's Meals in Riete's name.

Dear family of Riete Alkema-Gamelkoorn,
This morning we read in our newspaper with grief the announcement of the death of Riete. We are very sad and wish to condole you with this great loss. Riete was a wonderfull person. We think back now on the many years of our friendship with Henk and Riete to which we have a lot of good memories. They were a lovely couple, interested in others; they had an interesting life together and wer so generous.
We knew each other as students from the 1940s (members of the Student´s Club Vindicat atque Polit) in Groningen, a great time after the war.
May Riete rest in peace.
