THE next offering from the Bishopstoke Players will be Babes in the Wood later this month.
Running from Wednesday, January 27 to Saturday, January 30, it will be staged at Bishopstoke Memorial Hall, in Riverside.
Adapted by Paul Reakes, a memorable collection of characters will aim to bring this classic and enjoyable tale to life.
The nasty Sheriff of Nottingham is planning horrible deeds, including robbing the poor, and poisoning his niece and nephew, the “Babes” of the title, so he can inherit their fortune.
However, Robin Hood and his Merry Men have other plans, not least the rescue of Maid Marian, despite the interference of the wicked witch, Nausea Nightshade.
Tickets cost £6, or £5 for U16s and are available by ringing 023 8069 3032, or on www.bishopstokeplayers.org.
Any spare tickets will be sold on the door, and shows start at 7.30pm each evening, with a 2.30pm matinée on the Saturday. All proceeds will be donated to the charity, Action for Children.
