The annual Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service Fireshow on Sunday, July 8, combines spectacular firefighting and rescue displays with a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the emergency fire and rescue service.
At 10.55am the technical rope team and search and rescue dogs will demonstrate their skills. The dogs are taught to help crews search for people trapped under collapsed buildings. At 11.35am, Saxon, the service's first fire investigation dog will put his training into action. A mass decontamination demonstration at 1pm illustrates new techniques and the award-winning extrication team is holding an all-day Extrication Challenge involving teams from Fire and Rescue Services from across the region. The event at Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, in Leigh Road, Eastleigh runs from 10am to 5pm.
