TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
PART OF A27 SOUTHAMPTON ROAD
AND LEE LANE ROMSEY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 that The Borough Council of Test Valley as agent for Hampshire County Council (being the Traffic Authority) proposes to make an Order to allow for works to replace a bridge over the railway and maintenance to the mile long wall, as follows:- ROAD TO BE CLOSED: A27 Southampton Road from its junction with A3057 Romsey Road west and northwards for a distance of 850 metres and Lee Lane from its junction with A27 Southampton Road southwards to its junction with Lee Drove ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: For motorway traffic:- From the northern end of the closure north on A27 Southampton Road to the junction with Romsey By Pass. West on Romsey By Pass and A3090 Pauncefoot Hill to the junction with A36. South West on A36 motorway link road to the junction with M27. East on M27 to the junction with M271. North on M271 and A3057 Romsey Road to the southern point of the closure and vice versa For non-motorway traffic:- From the northern end of the closure north on A27 Southampton Road to the junction with Romsey By Pass. West on Romsey By Pass and A3090 Pauncefoot Hill to the junction with A36 Romsey Road. South west and south on A36 Romsey Road. Further south and east on A36 Salisbury Road and Commercial Road to the junction with A35 Redbridge Causeway. Further east on A35 Redbridge Causeway, Redbridge Road and Tebourba Way to the junction with A3057 Romsey Road. North on A3057 Romsey Road to the southern point of the closure and vice versa From the northern end of Lee Lane turn onto Lee Drove between Lee Lane and A3057 Romsey Road then follow routes above PERIOD OF ORDER: From Saturday 31st March 2012 for a period of 4 months or until completion of the works whichever is sooner DURATION OF WORKS: Notwithstanding the period of the Order it is anticipated that works will be completed within 3 months Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out If you have any queries regarding the diversion or works, please contact Patrick Rosborough on behalf of Carillion Civil Engineering, telephone 01452 726200.
