Development Standards Supplementary Planning Document (draft for consultation)
The New Forest National Park Authority has prepared a draft Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) providing more detailed guidance on several aspects of the Authority’s adopted Core Strategy & Development Management Policies DPD, including the requirements for car parking provision associated with new development; sustainable construction; and open space provision. The draft SPD also provides additional guidance on the Authority’s affordable housing requirements and the consideration of development close to the protected New Forest habitats. The document aims to provide clarity for applicants and local communities in considering proposals for development within the National Park.
Following the public consultation, the intention is that the SPD will be formally adopted by the National Park Authority in September 2012 and will then form part of the Local Development Frameworks (LDF) for the National Park. The LDF forms the basis for decisions on land-use planning.
The public consultation on the draft SPD runs from Friday 1st June to Friday 13 July 2012.
Representations using the response form provided should either be:
• Sent in writing to the Policy Team, New Forest National Park Authority, Lymington Town Hall, Avenue Road, Lymington, Hampshire SO41 9ZG ; or
• Emailed to policy@newforestnpa.gov.uk
Only those representations that are made in writing and arrive at the address specified above (in either hard copy or electronically) within the consultation period ending at 17.00 on Friday 13 July 2012 will have the right to have their representations considered. All comments will be made publically available. Any representation on the draft SPD should specify the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. They may be accompanied by a request to be notified at a specified address of adoption of the document as a SPD.
Copies of the consultation draft SPD, the response form, together with a consultation statement and other supporting documents can be viewed and downloaded from the Authority’s website www. newforestnpa.gov.uk and are available for public inspection at the National Park Authority offices, Lymington Town Hall, Avenue Road, Lymington, Hampshire SO41 9ZG between the hours of 08.45 and 17.00 on Mondays to Fridays.
