THE M3 MOTORWAY – JUNCTION 10 TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT SLIP ROAD CLOSURE

HIGHWAYS AGENCY
THE M3 MOTORWAY – JUNCTION 10
TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT SLIP ROAD CLOSURE

Notice is hereby given that the Secretary of State for Transport has made an Order on the M3 Motorway, near Winchester in the County of Hampshire, under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise the overnight
closure of the slip road leading to the southbound carriageway of the M3 from the A31 at Junction 10 (Bar End Interchange). This is in the interests of road safety while contractors install traffic detection equipment. It is expected that the work will last for approximately 1 night starting on or after Monday 6 February 2012 between 22:00 and 06:00.
The Order will come into force on 4 February 2012 and have a maximum duration of eighteen months. During the closure outlined above, traffic affected will be diverted north on the A31 (St Catherines Way), north on the A272 (Spitfire Link) to M3 Junction 9 and return south on the M3 to Junction 10.
The slip road closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs throughout the works period. I C James, Network Delivery & Development, Highways Agency, Department for Transport, Ref: HA/SE/2011/M3/217
