TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT SLIP ROAD CLOSURES - LANGSTONE INTERCHANGE
THE A27 TRUNK ROAD – LANGSTONE INTERCHANGE
TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT SLIP ROAD CLOSURES
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport has made an Order on the A27 Trunk Road, near Havant in the County of Hampshire, under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road. The effect of the Order is to authorise the overnight closure of the following slip roads at Langstone Interchange
(A3023):
(a) the road leading from the eastbound carriageway of the A27 to the A3023,
(b) the road leading from the A3023 to the eastbound carriageway of the A27,
(c) the road leading from the westbound carriageway of the A27 to the A3023; and
(d) the road leading from the A3023 to the westbound carriageway of the A27.
These measures are in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake bridge, road, street lighting, safety fence, cyclic maintenance, gantry and all associated work.
It is expected that the work will take place periodically over a twelve month period starting on or after Tuesday 15th November 2011 between 2200 and 0600 hours.
The Order will come into force on 15th November 2011 and have a maximum duration of twelve months.
During the closures outlined at (a) and (d) above, traffic affected will be diverted east on the A27 to Warblington Interchange (A259) and return west on the A27 to Langstone Interchange (A3023).
During the closures outlined at (b) and (c) above, traffic affected will be diverted west on the A27 to Broad Marsh Interchange (A2030) and return east on the A27 to Langstone Interchange
(A3023).
The slip road closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works periods.

THE A34 TRUNK ROAD
M3 JUNCTION 9 – TOT HILL INTERCHANGE
TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT SPEED RESTRICTIONS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport intends to make an Order on the A34 Trunk Road, in the County of Hampshire, under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order would be to impose an overnight temporary mandatory 40mph speed restriction on lengths of the A34 between M3 Junction 9 north of Winchester and Tot Hill Interchange
overbridge (B4640) south of Newbury; at certain stages of the work an overnight temporary mandatory 10mph speed restriction would be imposed on lengths of this road while traffic is escorted
through the works area by a convoy system.
This would be in the interests of road safety to enable contractors to undertake inlay, patching, white lining, catseye, kerbing, gully, vegetation clearing and all associated work.
It is expected that the work would take place periodically over a twelve month period starting on or after Tuesday 29th November 2011 between 2200 and 0600 hours.
The Order would come into force on 29th November 2011 and have a maximum duration of twelve months. The temporary mandatory speed restrictions would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they
are in operation during the works periods.
