THE A27 TRUNK ROAD – LANGSTONE INTERCHANGE
TEMPORARY OVERNIGHT SLIP ROAD CLOSURES

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State for Transport intends to make an Order on the A27 Trunk Road, near Havant in the County of Hampshire, under section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 because works are proposed to be executed on the road.
The effect of the Order would be to authorise the overnight closure of the following slip roads at Langstone Interchange (A3023):
(a) the road leading from the eastbound carriageway of the A27 to the A3023,
(b) the road leading from the A3023 to the eastbound carriageway of the A27,
(c) the road leading from the westbound carriageway of the A27 to the A3023; and
(d) the road leading from the A3023 to the westbound carriageway of the A27.
These measures would be in the interests of road safety while contractors undertake bridge, road, street lighting, safety fence, cyclic maintenance, gantry and all associated work.
It is expected that the work would take place periodically over a twelve month period starting on or after Tuesday 15th November 2011 between 2200 and 0600 hours.
The Order would come into force on 15th November 2011 and have a maximum duration of twelve months.
During the closures outlined at (a) and (d) above, traffic affected would be diverted east on the A27 to Warblington Interchange (A259) and return west on the A27 to Langstone Interchange (A3023). During the closures outlined at (b) and (c) above, traffic affected would be diverted west on the A27 to Broad Marsh Interchange (A2030) and return east on the A27 to Langstone Interchange (A3023).
The slip road closures and diversion routes would be clearly indicated by traffic signs when they are in operation during the works periods.
