WINCHESTER MP Mark Oaten could be on the move, but is not planning to leave his constituency.
His four-bedroom detached house at Bramdean near Alresford is currently up for sale at £575,000.
He tried selling it two years ago initially for more than £600,000, but withdrew it after not finding anywhere better on the market.
This time the married father-of-two is hoping to move around four miles north into Alresford.
He said: “I think the driving factor is that our daughters are getting a bit older and we spend quite a lot of the weekends driving them around to see their friends.”
Mr Oaten added that they would be sorry to leave Bramdean, where they have lived for around a decade.
However, they were now looking for somewhere with more services and better transport links, he said.
He added that he planned to remain in the area after the next election, where he is standing down as Winchester MP.
He has already ruled out any return to public life after that, which he repeated this week.
