IT has long been regarded as a dead language.
But large numbers pupils at Kings' School in Winchester having been choosing to study Latin this academic year.
Sarah Dineen, Latin teacher at the school, said: "Latin has so much to offer, helping with the study of English and other modern languages, the understanding of history and western civilisation as well as being a fascinating subject in its own right."
