A TEST Valley villager has been disqualified from the road for one year for being almost three times the drug driving limit.

Mitchell Cooper, of Butlers Close, Lockerley, was also found to be driving without insurance, a court heard.

Cooper, 26, was stopped on Winchester Road, in Romsey, on Friday, November 17 in an Audi A3 Sport.

He was found to have 144 micrograms of a breakdown product of cocaine per litre of blood. The legal limit is 50 micrograms.

Cooper pleaded guilty at Southampton Magistrates' Court on Thursday, April 25.

For both offences, as well as getting a one-year driving ban, he was fined £120, costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £48. This has to be paid in full by May 23.
