Members of a veteran motorcycle club thundered into Winchester to visit their former ancestral home, as well as old friends and associates.

Around 30 members of the Black Mafia Motorcycle Club, all Royal Green Jackets veterans, rode into Winchester to visit their former home at Peninsula Barracks, where they had lunch and met old friends. The barracks was the base for the regiment until 1985.

After spending a couple of hours at the barracks on Saturday April 13, the group then went on to visit  residents in Green Jacket Close in Stanmore, spending time and reminiscing before taking one of the veterans and a widow out for a ride on the motorbikes.

The group managed to raise £500, which was donated to one of the group's friends' sisters, who is fundraising ahead of taking on the Three Peaks challenge this July.

The club also provides escorts for funerals, military or otherwise. The club has a trike that can be used for families who do not have much money for school proms, as well as those interested in going for a ride.

The Black Mafia Motorcycle Club regularly ride out together all over the country and will be attending the 80th D-Day commemorations in Normandy in 2024.
